The capital is built on a lake called Texcoco which causes the city to constantly sink, more than nine meters in some areas over the last 100 years which is a geological phenomenon in itself. Mexico City has had many nicknames in the past including “City of the Palaces”, “City of Hope” and “Capital in Movement”.

Mexico with its diverse landscape of mountains, deserts and jungles with its ancient ruins such as Teotihuacán, the Mayan city of Chichén Itzá and many beautiful Spanish colonial-era towns make Mexico one of the most interesting countries to visit.
